Introduction

Ming Xianling Tomb is located in Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province. This is the joint burial tomb of the Ming Dynasty Emperor Gonghe and the Queen Dowager Zhangsheng, and it is also a national key cultural relics protection unit. It was built in the 14th year of the Ming Zhengde period and lasted for 47 years. Xianling has a unique environment, grand architecture, exquisite layout, and precious historical value, which has been highly valued by national cultural experts. The entire tomb is enclosed by two feudal cities, the outer city is more than 3,600 meters long, the wall is about 6 meters high, and the wall is about 1.8 meters thick. The tomb is composed of more than 30 large-scale buildings such as the inner and outer cities, front and rear treasure cities, Fangcheng Minglou, Lengsi Hall, Ling'en Gate, Shenchu, Shengku, Linhu, Junhu, Shenggongjian, Gongde Beilou, New Red Gate, Old Red Gate, Inner and Outer Mingshantang, Jiuku Yuhou, and Dragon-shaped Divine Road. Its layout is a masterpiece, and its halls and towers are magnificent and beautiful. The uniqueness of Xianling comes mainly from the rare example of a tomb changed to an imperial tomb, forming a unique double tomb in the world, which is extremely precious. In 2000, Ming Xianling Tomb was listed in the World Heritage List and highly praised by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
