Introduction

Mount Langya is located in the eastern part of Anhui Province and is an important scenic area and forest park in China. It is also one of the 24 cultural famous mountains and one of the hundred famous mountains in China. The total area of this region is approximately 240 square kilometers, with a forest coverage rate of up to 90%. It is also a precious repository of flora and fauna resources, including 54 bird species protected by the Sino-Japanese Hou Bird Protection Agreement and many domestic rare plant species such as Langya elm and Drunkard elm. In addition, Mount Langya also has the most complete natural secondary forest, which belongs to the limestone area in the transitional zone between North China and subtropical regions. Mount Langya is famous for its beautiful natural scenery and precious cultural heritage. Ninety-nine peaks of different sizes, such as Motuo Ridge, Phoenix Mountain, Dafeng Mountain, Xiaofeng Mountain, and Mount Langya, constitute the main landscape of the park. The lush forests, flowing streams and springs, and ancient temples and pavilions are also major attractions. The Langya Creek, Glass Pond, Qu Shui Liu Shang, Guiyun Cave, Xuehong Cave, Chongxi Cave, Taoyuan Cave, and beautiful mountain springs like Jiarun Spring, Zhuoying Spring, and Ziwei Spring all contribute to the beauty of this area. Apart from natural landscapes, Mount Langya also has rich cultural landscapes and historical relics. Since the Tang and Song dynasties, many literary figures and celebrities have left outstanding cultural heritage here. Ancient temples and pavilions, ancient passes and post roads, stone tablets, inscriptions, and cliff inscriptions are all enduring cultural heritages that witness the long-standing cultural history of Mount Langya.
