Introduction

Xiao Putuo, located on the edge of Erhai Lake, is a mini island only about 20 meters away from the lake surface. This island was initially built in the Ming dynasty and was fully renovated in 1982. There is now a two-story pavilion-style building, with the first floor enshrining the Buddha and the second floor enshrining Guanyin. Because of its shape resembling a circular seal, it is called "Haiyin" by locals. The best time to visit this island is early in the morning, when there is mist hanging over the sea surface, which is also known as "Lan'ai Putuo," one of the eight scenic spots of Erhai Lake.
