Introduction
The river in front of Ruili City, Yunnan Province was formerly known as Nanmao River and Wushui River. During the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, it was renamed Luchuan River, and in the Qing Dynasty it was known as Longchuan River or Ruili River. This river irrigates tens of thousands of hectares of fertile land in China and Myanmar and supports nearly a million residents. The upstream of the Ruili River is the Long River, which originates from the west side of the Gaoligong Mountain and passes through counties and cities such as Tengchong, Longchuan, and Lianghe before crossing Wanqing and Ruili and eventually flowing into Myanmar's Irrawaddy River. It is one of the important rivers in western Yunnan Province and also a sub-tropical long river. Some sections of the Ruili River belong to the boundary river between China and Myanmar, with a length of more than 20 kilometers.
