Introduction
Furong Village is located on the west bank of the middle reaches of Nanxi River, one kilometer north of Yantou Village. It is said that the village has a history of more than 1000 years. The founding ancestor, Chen Gong, migrated from Changqiao in Rui'an during the Taiping Xingguo period of the Song Dynasty to form a clan village based on blood relationship. Because there are three cliffs standing in the southwest of the village, with bright colors resembling hibiscus flowers, it was named Furong Village. The village covers an area of 215 acres and currently has 443 households. There are more than 30 ancient Ming and Qing Dynasty houses, 5 sites of Ming Dynasty mansions, and a total of 18 ancestral halls preserved in the village. Furong Village is a village with a single surname, and the settlement layout of over 600 years ago is still preserved today, presenting an almost square overall shape facing west. The village is surrounded by a cobblestone wall that stretches more than 2,000 meters long and 2 meters high, resembling a small castle.
