Introduction
Tuyugou Mazha Village is a long-standing Uighur village located in the south valley of the Tuyugou Grand Canyon, showcasing Uighur traditional style. The village has a history of over 2600 years and is a typical representative of the village pattern reflecting the Islamic cultural background in eastern Xinjiang. Meanwhile, the main attractions in the scenic area, the Tombs of Seven Sages and Qianfo Cave, also attract many tourists. The Tombs of Seven Sages symbolize the beginning of Islamic missionary work in Xinjiang, while Qianfo Cave was once one of the three major Buddhist grottoes in Xinjiang, with important historical significance. However, German explorer von Le Coq conducted large-scale looting here, leaving a profound historical legacy issue that deserves our deep reflection. Transportation From Shanshan to Tuyugou is about 70 kilometers, and there are shuttle buses available. Buses depart from Shanshan County Passenger Transport Station at 12:00, 13:00, and 14:00.
