Introduction

Located in the northeast corner of the inner city of Beijing, Dongcheng District, Yonghe Temple Street to the east is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist temples in China. In the 32nd year of Kangxi's reign, this place became the mansion of the imperial clan Yin Zhen and was named a key Buddhist temple in Han areas by the State Council in 1983. The temple buildings include Zhaotaimen, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Yonghe Gate, Yonghe Palace, Scripture Hall, and Tantra Hall, following the layout standard of "Seven-Temple Garan" in Chinese Buddhist temples. From the flying eaves and brackets of the Dongxi archway to the ancient Dongxi Shunshan Building, the facilities in the temple are complete, with over a thousand halls and magnificent splendor, worth a visit.
