Introduction

Slovakia is one of the countries in Europe with the most castles. Among them, Spis Castle is one of the largest castles, covering an area of 4 hectares. The castle was built in 1209 and has a history of hundreds of years. Inside the castle, visitors can find Gothic round towers, a water tower, a small chapel, and a rectangular Romanesque palace. Ancient weapons and torture devices are also on display in the dungeon. Even from a distance on the road, its unique silhouette is impressive. In addition to the architectural masterpiece of the castle, there are hidden many historical stories behind Spis Castle, waiting for tourists to explore.

Transportation
There are nearly 20 buses from Levoca or Poprad each day. However, there are fewer buses on weekends, so please consult the local tourist center. The bus fare from Levoca to the castle town is 1.1 euros for a one-way trip.
