Introduction

Hengchun Old Street has a history of over a hundred years since the founding of Hengchun City, and its buildings and businesses are mostly over half a century old. The architecture of the old street is unique and charming, with a combination of Chinese and Western styles such as classical window grilles, traditional washed bricks and tiles, old Minnan-style buildings, and Baroque-style buildings. Among the old shops, the most unique ones are those that have been around for a long time and have an old-fashioned charm. For example, there is a 300-year-old Chinese medicine cabinet in a century-old Chinese pharmacy, designed with ancient copper coins as buckles. Old-fashioned snacks are also a must-try, such as salty rice cakes, red round cakes, mung bean garlic, noodles, and duck meat vermicelli, where you can experience the paradise of traditional cuisine. In order to create a more humanistic Hengchun ancient city, the old street has also undergone improvement projects, strengthening pedestrian pavement, lighting equipment, and navigation facilities, and planting green plants widely, providing a friendly space for visitors to comfortably stroll around.
