Introduction

Michalska Gate is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Bratislava. Originally a key part of the city's defense wall, the building now only consists of a reconstructed tower, dating back to around 1300. In the 16th century it was destroyed, but rebuilt in the 18th century to its current form. Today, museums near the Michalska Gate showcase the history of the city wall and the evolution of the city.
