Introduction

Tianxiang is located on the east section of the Central Cross-Island Highway, 19 kilometers away from Taroko Gorge. During the Japanese occupation, Sukumajinja Shrine was established here. Now, there is a statue of Wen Tianxiang here, and it is also renamed Tianxiang. Two streams, Dashaxi Stream and Tazikiri Stream, merge to form Wuxi Stream here. Due to long-term water erosion, a multi-level river terrace topography has been formed, making it an important tourist attraction in Taroko National Park. This area has a vast hinterland and various facilities such as restaurants, hotels, bus stops, parking lots, post offices, etc. The Taroko National Park Administration has a management station here, providing interpretation and consultation services to tourists. The Crystal Resort on the west side is the only tourist-oriented large hotel in the national park and an important tourist attraction. Behind it is the Tianxiang Christian Church, while the Catholic Church is built near the Youth Activity Center on the other end.
