Introduction

The Sleeping Giant Garden is a private garden located at the foot of the Nausori Highlands in Fiji. Established by American actor and "wheelchair detective" Raymond Burr in 1977, it is famous for its vast number of orchids and interesting structures. Within the 20-hectare botanical garden, there are approximately 2,000 different varieties of orchids, including rare species indigenous to Fiji and specially cultivated tropical plants and precious Asian lotus flowers. The fragrant pathways are surrounded by lush jungle and lotus ponds, adding diverse elements to the scenery. The Sleeping Giant Garden has become one of Fiji's most popular tourist attractions.
