Introduction
One of the most famous buildings in Suva and one of the most important and spectacular historical museums in the South Pacific is the Fiji Museum. The museum has a variety of exhibits, from small and delicate decorations to traditional giant canoes. It is a must-visit place for those who want to explore the mysterious history of Fiji. Although there are not many exhibits, the exhibitions are methodical and record the historical origins of Fiji. The artifacts on display include stone tools from over three thousand years ago and guns and Bibles used during the conquest of Fiji. One display cabinet in the museum features a traditional Chinese robe from the Qing Dynasty, which records the history of Chinese people landing in Fiji. However, the most surprising history on display is that of cannibalism. In that barbaric era, indigenous tribes killed each other, and the displays of wooden chisels and spoons were used exclusively for cannibalism. The tragedy of Reverend Baker, who was eaten by the indigenous people, is the most widely circulated story in history. The Bible, comb, and boots used by Reverend Baker at the time still remain for visitors to see, so that they know that such a story once happened on this beautiful little island.
