Introduction
Mount Nebo, located near Madaba in Jordan, is a revered holy site believed to be the burial place of Moses and where he saw the Promised Land. It is approximately 9 kilometers away from Madaba, and on a clear day, you can see views of Jericho, the Dead Sea, the Jordan Valley, and Jerusalem.
On Mount Nebo, you will see the first church built to commemorate Moses, which was constructed in the 4th century. However, most of the buildings you can see now were built in the 6th century. The main building has a 9m x 5m mosaic on the floor, which is in relatively good condition. Before leaving, you can also visit a small exhibition room.
