Introduction

20 kilometers southeast of Monywa is a famous Buddhist area and monastery in Myanmar, with many impressive Buddhist structures. Among them, the world's second tallest Laykyun Setkyar statue stands at 129 meters high with 31 floors inside, leaving people in awe. In addition, there is a giant reclining Buddha that is 91 meters long and 18 meters high, as well as a gold pagoda similar to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, reaching a height of 69 meters. The plain area at the foot of the mountain is planted with ten thousand Bodhi trees, each with a statue of Buddha placed beneath it, earning the nickname "Bodhi garden." This area attracts many Buddhist monks who come to study and practice, as well as meditation and insight centers for monks and laypeople to visit. All of these structures and facilities are spread along a rural road, making it a must-visit destination when in Monywa.
