Introduction

The identity of the builder of this tower, built in the mid-13th century, remains unknown. The walls of the small room inside the tower are covered with murals. One of the murals, called "The Temptation of the Demon King," depicts several scantily clad witches trying to tempt Buddha, but he remains in deep meditation and cannot be tempted. Outside the tower, there are some Garuda reliefs. Tourists visiting Nepal know that Garuda is the mount of Vishnu and is also known as "Jatayu."
