Introduction

The Hsinbyume Pagoda was built in Mandalay to commemorate the first queen Hsinbyume Ma Myaing Princess. Located 200 meters north of the Great Bell, it serves Myanmar's religious and cultural heritage. The pagoda is white and has a layered form, with the tower surrounded by a wave-like seven-tiered base. The unique architecture of the pagoda has earned it the nickname "Cream Cake Pagoda." According to Burmese astrology, the location of the pagoda is the center of the world. On the first level base of the three-tiered tower, there are several sets of seven small towers arranged from bottom to top, symbolizing the seven great mountains that encircle the world, while the wave-like railing connecting the tower body represents the ocean. The second level of the pagoda is a huge platform, while the third level has many small pagodas with miniature Buddha images enshrined inside, attracting countless believers who come to worship every year. The Hsinbyume Pagoda is unique in Myanmar, a country with thousands of pagodas.
