Introduction
Surrounded by forests, the mountain is dotted with Buddhist stupas and still exudes a peaceful atmosphere. This is an important pilgrimage site for Burmese Buddhism, and many monks come here to practice. Climbing the steep mountain road of Shijie Mountain, one can see stupas of various sizes along the way. It is said that there are more than 500 stupas and temples here, with up to 6,000 practicing monks. You can meet them along the road, either taking a break or chanting. At the midpoint of the mountain is a semi-circular temple with more than 30 similar Buddha statues inside, and the exterior walls are covered with scriptures.
