Introduction
Located 200 meters northwest of Dabinu Temple in Bagan, King Alaungsithu built a temple called "Golden Cave Temple" in 1311. This temple is a representative of the mid-term architecture of Bagan, and although it is similar to early Mon temple architecture, it sits on a high platform, is exquisitely decorated with relief sculptures, and has small steps in the northeast corner with intricate plaster sculptures. The temple has spacious doors and windows, providing excellent ventilation and lighting. When you climb up the tower and look south, you can see the golden-lit Thatbyinnyu Pahto temple, which is considered a royal pagoda because of its proximity to the royal palace ruins.
