Introduction
Inya Lake is the largest lake in the northern part of Yangon city, only 6 kilometers away from the city center. Among the local Chinese, it is affectionately known as "Yanzi Lake". Inya Lake was originally a reservoir built during the British colonial rule, and now its west side, "Inya kanbaung", is a popular dating spot for local youths. On the south side, there are also several restaurants popular among locals and Aung San Suu Kyi's old residence, although the residence is generally not open to tourists.
