Introduction

Dilo Minglo Pagoda, also known as the "Shin Long Minn Loo Temple", was built in 1211 AD and is one of the largest Buddhist temples built in Bagan. It is also the last temple built in the Myanmar style. Legend has it that the Bagan king who built it was selected as a prince here, so he chose to build a temple here. From afar, one can see the Shin Long Minn Loo Temple standing in the fields, 46 meters high, built of red bricks, and with a long history and cultural heritage despite the ravages of time. Although the temple was damaged in the earthquake of 1975, it has been well restored and the original murals can still be enjoyed by tourists. The temple is divided into three levels, with four Buddha statues facing different directions inside. Outside the Dilo Minglo Pagoda, tourists can see gypsum carvings and sandstone decorations, which are very exquisite. Faintly visible on the walls are paintings of the heavenly palace that were painted to protect the temple from damage. At night, the temple lit up and broadcasting chanting leave a deep impression on passersby.
