Introduction

Avenida de Mayo is a place full of historical heritage in the capital city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, with many old buildings located here. Its design inspiration came from Gran Vía in the center of Madrid, Spain, and it is a masterpiece of the 19th century. It is connected to Plaza de Mayo and Plaza del Congreso at both ends. The width of Avenida de Mayo is 30 meters, and it was originally stipulated that the height of buildings along the street should not exceed 24 meters. Palacio Barolo was the first building to be given an exception. In 1997, this avenue was listed as a national historical site, and all renovation work must be approved by the Monuments and Historical Sites Commission. In short, Avenida de Mayo is considered an important wealth of Argentine history and culture.
