Introduction

In the north of the United Nations Square Garden in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, there is a steel flower that blooms all year round, named "FLORALIS GENERICO", which means the representative of all flowers. This steel flower is 23 meters high, 16 meters when closed, and 32 meters when opened. It is cast from stainless steel and aluminum, and the opening and closing in the morning and evening are controlled by an artificial motor. This huge installation has not only become a iconic artwork of the square, but also a beautiful gift that artist Eduardo Catalano has given to the Argentine people.
