Introduction

The Suixi Confucius Temple, located on the south bank of the Xixi River, is grand in scale and old-fashioned in style, and retains beautiful ecological surroundings. Originally named Study Palace, it was built in the Southern Song Dynasty and underwent repairs and renovations throughout the dynasties. The buildings in the city have a simple and unsophisticated style, presenting an atmosphere of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. According to legend, the head of the statue of Confucius in the Confucius Temple was molded in accordance with the imperial decree in Qufu, Shandong and then transported to Suixi.
