Introduction

The "Red House" in Nanxun, also known as Liu's Staircase, is a group of buildings that blend Chinese and Western styles. It is the location of Liu An, the third son of Liu Yong, the leader of the "Four Xiang" in Nanxun. The entire building is divided into three parts: south, middle, and north. The most unique feature is the fusion of Romanesque architecture in the south and north sections. The Liu's Staircase is not only majestic, but also showcases numerous exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings, and stone carvings inside. From the outside, the small red building presents a typical architectural style of the water towns of the southern Yangtze River, but upon entering the interior, it is discovered to be a Western-style building, making it an ideal place for taking photos.
