Introduction

Daming Temple consists of three parts, the central part being the main temple building, the east part has the Qiling Pagoda, and the west part is a garden-style backyard. Qiling Pagoda is the most popular place in the temple, where the relics of Shakyamuni are enshrined. Literary giants like Li Bai and Bai Juyi have climbed the tower and wrote poems. From the top of the tower, you can overlook Daming Temple and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shouxihu Lake and Yangzhou City. The "Bell Striking to Welcome the New Year" ceremony is held annually on December 31st. The temple also holds Buddhist ceremonies on the birthdays or memorial days of various Bodhisattvas.
