Introduction
Paifang Street in the old town area of Chaozhou has a total of 22 paifangs, each bearing a historic story. These paifangs were mostly set up for people such as imperial scholars, top scholars and high-ranking officials. The earliest Zhushi Paifang appeared in 1517. Tourists can admire the Four Imperial Scholars Paifang, Top Scholar Paifang, Zhushi Paifang, Emperor's Three Seals Paifang, and Qin En's Three Seals Paifang, all of which are worth seeing. In addition, there are many arcade buildings along the street where visitors can taste unique local delicacies such as handmade beef balls, taro cakes, and duck twist noodles, making it a charming tourist destination.
