The Special Exhibit Hall of the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall in the Nanjing Massacre Mass Grave showcases the history of the Nanjing Massacre through a comprehensive use of historical documents, architecture, sculptures, and films. The exhibit hall displays a wide range of historical materials, including photographs, survivor registries and testimonies, military equipment used by the Japanese troops, as well as their diaries and confessions. In addition, there are several movie theaters in the hall, showing documentaries and films related to the Nanjing Massacre and the resistance against the Japanese invasion. In a room resembling a coffin, visitors can also see some of the remains excavated from the "mass graves," providing undeniable evidence of the atrocities committed by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Nanjing Massacre. Furthermore, the memorial hall features a meteor installation called "12 Seconds," where a meteor falls from the sky every 12 seconds, serving as a reminder of the memory of the 300,000 compatriots who perished within six weeks. Every year on December 13th, a national memorial ceremony is held at the memorial hall. Opening hours 08:30-17:30
