Introduction
Nanjing Confucius Temple is one of the four major Confucius temples in China. It was first built in 1034 AD and expanded from the Eastern Jin Dynasty academy. It is located on the banks of the Qinhuai River and is a complex of buildings comprising the Jiangnan Gongyuan, Kong Temple, and academy. Here, there are many ancient buildings, such as the stone railing in front of the Confucius temple, which was built during the Ming Zhengde period and is one of the oldest and best-preserved buildings in the complex. There is also the longest wall of inscriptions in the country, the Dazhaobi Wall, which is 110 meters long and is a famous tourist attraction. Every year, the Confucius Temple scenic area hosts many folk activities and lantern exhibitions, as well as various interesting festivals, and there are many delicacies for tourists to enjoy.
