Must-visit attractions in Warsaw for free

Warsaw has a wealth of free attractions, ranging from various museums to the banks of the Vistula River, offering plenty of free places to visit.

Royal royal road

The Royal Route, which stretches for 11 kilometers, connects Warsaw's Old Town with the Baroque-style Wilanów Palace in the south. Along Nowy Świat and the Royal Way, there are various fashion stores, cafes, monuments to Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus and Romantic poet Adam Mickiewicz, as well as the Presidential Palace.

Wajinki Park (Royal Bath Park)

Wawel Castle Park, located by the Royal Route, is one of the most beautiful parks in Europe. While there is a fee to enter the palace grounds, other areas are free to explore. Visitors can stroll through the gardens or walk around the ponds, where different animals, such as ducks, peacocks, and squirrels, can be seen. From May to September, free Chopin piano concerts are held every Sunday near the Chopin monument. In 2014, open-air concerts will be held again in the ancient amphitheater.
Warsaw Uprising Museum is dedicated to commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and officially opened on July 31, 2004. The museum features exhibits that recreate the atmosphere of Warsaw during the uprising, including the 63 days of armed struggle and the daily life of civilians. Visitors can see a variety of artifacts, with the most eye-catching being a replica of the Liberator B-24J bomber. In addition to the main building, the museum also includes the Freedom Park, the Memory Wall, and the Bunker exhibition area. These exhibition areas help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the uprising and experience its impact.

Multimedia fountain Park

The new fountain on Rybaki street near the old town area is a popular attraction featuring 360-degree water jets. During the months of May to September, laser fountain shows are held every Friday and Saturday evening. When the weather is warm, this is a favorite spot for children to enjoy. Two kilometers away on the banks of the Vistula river is the University of Warsaw where the rooftop of the university library offers a park and garden with beautiful views of the Vistula river.

Vistula River Beach

Warsaw has natural river beaches and three sand beaches, which is rare in some big cities in Europe. They are all located near the zoo on the right bank of the Vistula River; you can take a free ferry from Poniatowski Bridge to reach them. The attractions near the beaches are connected by a forest path, where people often ride bicycles, jog, and take walks.
