Going to the Netherlands to see windmills and flowers is just the right time!

When it comes to the Netherlands, I think everyone's first impression is probably windmills! Spring is coming soon, and if you miss the Netherlands when traveling to Europe, it would be a pity. From late March to mid-May, the Netherlands offers stunning displays of flowers, with fields and fields of blooms that will surely amaze you if you see them with your own eyes. Additionally, the capital city Amsterdam, as well as cities like The Hague, Rotterdam, and Giethoorn, are all worth a visit and exploration.

Zaanse Schans Windmill Village

If you want to see the picturesque windmills as you imagine, you can visit Zaanse Schans Windmill Village (Zaanse Schans), which is more than 10 kilometers away from Amsterdam. Although it is not the 'windmills everywhere' scene that everyone imagines, the few large windmills are still quite spectacular! They are mainly built on the riverside, with the windmill blades slowly turning, creating a very peaceful and beautiful scene.

Kinderdijk Windmill Village

Want to see more windmills at once? Then come to Kinderdijk! This place is a testament to the history and culture of Dutch windmills. Every Saturday afternoon in July and August, 19 windmills turn together, creating a spectacular scene. In 1997, the windmill groups at Kinderdijk were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Starting from about 10 kilometers southeast of Rotterdam, you can reach Kinderdijk Windmill Village. Visiting the interior of the windmills, taking a boat tour to admire the windmills, and cycling with the windmill groups in the background are all the right ways to enjoy Kinderdijk Windmill Village!
