The secluded paradise hanging on the cliff

In addition to the magnificent village scenery, the Cinque Terre also has a hiking trail that spans five villages and is built along the coast. The entire trail is about 15-20 kilometers long, with the beautiful view of the sea on one side and the magnificent mountains on the other side, attracting many hiking enthusiasts to come for pilgrimage.

Monterosso Town - Aurora Tower

In the 16th century, Monterosso built 13 high towers to defend against maritime invaders. These towers have a long history, witnessing centuries of storms and wars. Now, only the Aurora Tower still stands on the village's peak, known locally as 'Tower on the Sea Peak' (Torre al picco di mare). Although the Aurora Tower is now privately owned and not open for visits, tourists can admire this historical relic up close by following the mountain paths.

Spiaggia di Sant'Andrea

During the summer, the sea has strong winds and high, fierce waves, making Spiaggia di Sant'Andrea a world-renowned surfing destination. Along the beach, there is a walking path leading to a tunnel, which, once passed through, reaches the ancient fishing village of Monterosso. The beach is lined with umbrellas that form an artificial rainbow stretching to the foot of the distant mountains. Additionally, beach chairs can be rented for 10 euros each.

Via dell'Amore—Path of Love

A sea cliff path between Manarola and Riomaggiore, known as the 'Path of Love' (Via dell'Amore). This trail is part of the Cinque Terre paths and is about 1 kilometer long. A flat path has been carved out on the not-so-high cliff, with rocks on one side and the waves of the Ligurian Sea on the other. Every day, countless couples hang love locks in front of the 'Modernist' kissing statue here. There is also a tunnel halfway through, filled with romantic messages in various languages.

Manarola - Church of San Lorenzo

In the center of Manarola, walk up from the central square, passing through the staggered shops and inns, and you will find the Church of San Lorenzo. The church is composed of three different buildings (the old sacristy, the new sacristy, and the monarch's chapel), each representing different architectural styles and historical periods. The old sacristy was built by Brunelleschi.

St. Margaret's Church

St. Margaret's Church is one of the landmark buildings in Vernazza, built in the 13th century, facing the sea, and featuring a 40-meter-high octagonal bell tower. Every night at nine o'clock, visitors can participate in the church's candlelight procession, with candles available for 50 cents each, easily found on the streets in front of the sanctuary. The choir will perform hymns multiple times in various languages.

Corniglia - St. Peter's Church

St. Peter's Church is also a Gothic architecture. Although it was built in the 14th century, it is very well preserved. Inside the church, visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the coastal terraces. Additionally, the interior of the church is decorated in Ligurian Gothic style and features a beautiful marble rose window.
