Amsterdam TOP Coffee Shops Introduction

Amsterdam has many exquisite cafes, especially along the canals. Ordering a cup of coffee or tea, a slice of cake or scone, sitting in the courtyard of a cafe, and enjoying the view of the canals is always a great way to experience the scenery, culture, and cuisine of Amsterdam. Alternatively, you can have a brunch at noon. Here are some popular local cafes that I recommend, but do note that these places tend to be crowded.

Café de Jaren

Café de Jaren is probably too famous, so sometimes it's impossible to find a seat here, especially on the terrace near the canal. There are two floors in total, and the upper floor turns into a restaurant after 5:30 PM. In the summer, having a cup of coffee in the courtyard is really comfortable.

Greenwoods

Greenwoods is quite a popular café, mainly offering English breakfast (available all day). It's also a good place for brunch. However, the location is hidden and not easy to find.

Latei coffee cafe

In my opinion, Latei has two main selling points. First, it offers healthy food. This cafe places great emphasis on ingredients and is very friendly to vegetarians, making it a favorite among many vegetarian friends. Additionally, it specializes in healthy juices. The second selling point is the abundance of cute decorations in the store, all of which are second-hand. If you like them, you can actually buy them and take them home.

De Taart van m´n Tante

If you are a sweet tooth, you must not miss this shop. The various cakes in this shop are not only beautiful but also taste very good! The decoration in the shop is also very lively. The prices are slightly higher, and it gets very crowded on Sundays.

Peperwortel

Strictly speaking, this is not a café, but rather a small deli. For locals, if they don't want to cook, they can buy various ready-to-eat foods here to take home, and the variety is particularly rich. If you find that the street restaurants are all crowded, taking food to go from here is also a good choice.
