Exploring Xi'an's Lesser-Known Gem - The Five Peaks of Qinling Mountains

Many people say that all the attractions in Xi'an are in the downtown area or Lintong. Little do they know that on the south side of this city, there are more hidden gems, including the "Qinling Mountains".

Aoshan

Aoshan, also known as Xitaiba, is 3,476 meters above sea level. It is the second highest peak in Shaanxi Province and faces the first highest peak, Taibaishan, from a distance. To climb the mountain, you need to find the entrance, and the entrance to Aoshan is located 23 kilometers away. It is named "23 kilometers" because there is a forestry station at this location and it is also 23 kilometers away from Laobing Station.

Ice Crystal Peak

Ice Crystal Peak, with an elevation of 3015 meters, is the highest peak in the eastern Qinling Mountains, located between Zhuaqueshan and Taipingshan in Huxian, Xi'an. There is a stone monument at the top of the peak called "Top of Qinling". From there, you can have a distant view of Dongliang and Shouyang Mountains, as well as a close look at Paomaliang, Lujiaoliang, and Guangtoushan.

Mount Taibai

The highest peak of the Qinling Mountains is Mount Taibai. It is known for its high altitude and treacherous terrain, and serves as the dividing line between North and South China. In winter, climbing Mount Taibai at a fast pace is the most challenging among the ten peaks of the Qinling Mountains, and it also offers the most scenic views.

Deer Antler Ridge

The most beautiful ridge in the Dongqinling Mountains. Perhaps I don't know much about the Qinling Mountains, but I have always believed that the "South Cliff and North Forest" of Lu Jiao Liang, the "Moon Surface" of Ao Shan, and the "Four Taibai Pools" of Taibai Mountain can be considered as the three most beautiful places in the Qinling Mountains.

Shouyang Mountain

Shaoyang Mountain, famous peak at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains. Named Shaoyang because it is the first place to see the sunrise when standing on the summit and looking towards the east as the sun rises slowly.
