Phoenix Ridge
Phoenix Ridge is located southeast of the main peak of Zhuyu Peak. On the ridge, there are two ancient maple trees that are over a thousand years old. One is planted on the slope, and the other grows at the bottom of the slope, about 30 meters apart. The tree crowns are about 17 meters high. Interestingly, these two trees grow towards each other, with the male and female trees depending on each other, earning the titles 'Maple King' and 'Maple Queen'. According to legend, they were transformed from a pair of phoenixes, hence the name Phoenix Ridge. The two ancient maples belong to the species Acer pentaphyllum. In spring and summer, they are lush and green, and in autumn, their leaves turn fiery red. On the cliff of Phoenix Ridge stands a building called 'Chongyang Pavilion'. The pavilion is four stories high, with white walls and black eaves, appearing majestic and grand amidst the high mountains and steep ridges. This pavilion was built to commemorate the great Tang Dynasty poet Wang Wei.
