Daxi Wonton
A representative of Nanjing's firewood wonton, with a unique Jinling flavor. Some people travel thousands of miles along the river just for this taste, and it's worth it! Originally operated in a shanty in a neighboring village for more than twenty years, it moved to a simple roadside storefront a couple of years ago. The wontons are cooked in a large rural stove using bricks, with the smoke from the firewood rising straight into the sky. A coal stove is placed next to the large stove to boil eggs. There are three types of soup: original, three delicacies, and duck blood.
Wang's Wonton Chain Store
This is the most famous wonton place in Nanjing, and even more famous is that the owner personally cooks the wontons. The owner's wife has an excellent memory, asking each customer whether they want a small, medium, or large bowl, and then skillfully preparing them all at once. A single pot can cook dozens of bowls. The wontons here are large and meaty, belonging to the Anqing style, with perfectly seasoned fillings.
Anqing Firewood Wonton
One of the few firewood wonton stalls in Nanjing city, with years of smoky atmosphere that has long blackened the mottled signboard. Generous portions and very delicious.
Wu Laotai's Soulful Small Wontons
The wonton skins in the shop are thin and tender, with a texture that can be 'drunk'. They are very delicious and worth a visit.
Nanhuduck Blood Wonton
Combining two major specialties of Nanjing into one bowl, it is indeed very unique. Wonton + duck blood, and you can also add duck intestine, duck liver, duck gizzard, and duck heart. Very delicious.
