Fira, like other small towns, is a town of white houses built on the edge of a cliff, located on the western edge of the semi-circular Thira Island, 400 meters high on the volcanic rim. Here you will find banks, shops, and many hotels and restaurants. The town also has taxis and buses, making it the capital and the busiest town of Santorini Island. It offers the most beautiful sea views on the island, the best spots to view the volcano, and has been the filming location for many movies, such as 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life'.
The lighthouse at the westernmost point of Santorini Island is the best place to watch the sunset and also offers a panoramic view of the entire island.
The Blue Domed Church has almost become the symbol of Santorini. Not only is its exterior magnificent, but the interior decoration of the cathedral is also exceptionally splendid. The exquisite murals and large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling cannot be simply described as imposing.
Oia
This is a section of the road from Fira to Oia, close to the cliff, with few tourists. The environment is beautiful and serene, making it perfect for photography.
Acroterra Rosa Hotel
Acroterra Rosa Hotel features a small chapel with an altar and a golden bell, as well as an open-air amphitheater with white stone seating. The unique white-walled villas and clusters of flowers emerging from the windows create perfect photo opportunities from every angle.
