Beijing's hidden coffee list, hidden in the hutongs

Counting the small, niche cafes in Beijing, there are open-air coffee houses where you can't speak, shops that only open at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, places full of owls, and uncommon flavors like durian latte and red velvet latte. Most of them are hidden deep in the hutongs and may be difficult to find without using navigation.

Silent Coffee

The entrance area is the counter, upstairs is the terrace area with a great view, perfect for daydreaming when the weather is nice. The basement is the silent area, with fixed silent hours every week.

April and Cafe

Located on the bustling Andingmen Street, one of the owners is a designer. The red and white combination appears unique yet fitting. Upon entering, it feels like you've been transported to a small roadside café abroad.

Hidden Hours

The store is called 'Hidden', and it opens at 2 PM. There are a total of four tables, and the space is a bit cramped. Fortunately, the color scheme and decorations are quite pleasing. Besides drinking in the store, you can also take away packaged coffee beans if you like.

Owlery Cafe&Brew

A small coffee shop near Qingnian Road, decorated with various owl ornaments. There are many choices of coffee and tea, but fewer cakes, only cheesecake.

Cafe Clark (Huafang Yicheng Branch)

The store occasionally plays Japanese songs in a loop, and the owner and waitstaff have a very Japanese style. When the sun is shining, just sitting around creates a very healing atmosphere.

Mplus Coffice

Located in the courtyard of the People's Fine Arts Printing Factory, the baristas are very friendly and often ask customers about their experience. In addition to various hand-brewed coffees, the popular 'Red Velvet Latte' is also available here.

Yi Bei Coffee

The shop's specialty is the Arctic Ocean Bubble Americano, creatively combining Americano coffee with Arctic Ocean soda. The color and taste are very summery.
