Must-visit attractions in Wuhan for first-time visitors

Situated on Luojia Hill and surrounded by East Lake, it covers an area of 5187 acres with a building area of 2.62 million square meters. As one of the oldest universities in China, its palace-style buildings, which blend Chinese and Western architectural styles, are ancient, elegant, majestic, and magnificent. It is considered a masterpiece and model of modern Chinese university campus architecture and is known as the most beautiful university campus in China.
The Hubei Provincial Museum was established in 1953. It is one of the eight national museums jointly built by the central and local governments, a national first-class museum, a key research base for the protection of unearthed wooden lacquerware by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, and the largest, most richly endowed, and most scientifically powerful comprehensive national museum in Hubei Province.
Outside the Yellow Crane Tower, there are auxiliary buildings such as a bronze statue of a yellow crane, Shengxiang Pagoda, archways, pavilions, and corridors, which make the main tower even more magnificent. Surrounding the main tower are other structures like Baiyun Pavilion, Xiang Pagoda, Stele Gallery, and Mountain Gate. The entire architecture has a unique national style and complements the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge at the foot of Snake Hill. From the top of the tower, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the three towns of Wuhan.

Hubu Alley Snack Street

Hubu Alley is located in the bustling Simenkou area of Wuchang. To the east, it is adjacent to the Ten-Mile Long Street (Jiefang Road); to the west, it is close to the vast Yangtze River; to the south, it is backed by the 'First Building of the World'—Yellow Crane Tower; and to the north, it connects to the red tourism area of Dufu Dike. It is a food paradise surrounded by famous streets, buildings, scenic spots, and the Yangtze River.
"A bridge flies to span the north and south, turning a natural moat into a thoroughfare." The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is located between Snake Hill in Wuchang District and Tortoise Hill in Hanyang, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is the first bridge over the Yangtze River and the first dual-purpose road-rail bridge built on the Yangtze River after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It is known as the "First Bridge of the Yangtze River." Since its completion, the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge has become a landmark of Wuhan City.
The popular science exhibition includes sections such as Children's Playground, Robot World, Mechanics and Machinery, Science and Life, Earth and Universe, Mathematics and Physics, Information Technology, Sound and Light, Materials and Energy, Electricity and Magnetism. There are more than 260 exhibits (sets) with high scientific knowledge content and strong interactivity, integrating scientific, educational, and entertaining elements. Over 90% of the exhibits can be operated by visitors, and some exhibits are among the best and first of their kind in the country.
Chu River and Han Street is part of the Wuhan Central Cultural District in Wuhan, Hubei Province. It stretches for 1.5 kilometers and features architecture primarily in the style of the Republic of China era. Han Street was developed along the south bank of the Chu River and boasts the richest commercial content in China, the most fashionable brands, and a collection of world-class cultural projects. At night, the street is illuminated by small colorful lights that can change colors, creating a visual impact akin to a sky full of twinkling stars. It is as romantic and beautiful as the Milky Way!

Guanggu Square

Guanggu Square is located at the eastern gate of Wuhan City, standing at the entrance of 'China Optics Valley'. The location is exceptionally advantageous. The entire 'Guanggu Square' adopts a curved, fashionable architectural concept with a novel theme structure and exquisite design. From a distance, the square's cylindrical support pillars appear as stable as Mount Tai. On either side, the building's curtain walls gradually extend, resembling a large bird spreading its wings, ready to soar.
Tanhualin Street is located north of Wuchang Huayuan Mountain and south of Phoenix Mountain, starting from Zhongshan Road in the east and extending to Desheng Bridge in the west, with a total length of 1200 meters. It is an old street that gradually formed after the expansion and shaping of Wuchang City in the fourth year of the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It is a gathering place for artistic youth, with a relatively fresh and elegant atmosphere. There are many small shops with artistic styles inside, making it a great place for photography!

East Lake Scenic Area

The East Lake Ecotourism Scenic Area covers an area of 88 square kilometers and consists of six sections: Tingtao, Moshan, Luoyan, Chuidi, Baima, and Luohong. It is rich in Chu culture and has exquisite Chu charm. The lake shore is winding, with interlaced ports and bays, vast blue waves, surrounded by green mountains, and dotted with islands, known as the 'Ninety-nine Bays'. National key universities such as Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) are located on the shores of East Lake, making it a superb scenic line.

Haichang Polar Ocean World

Wuhan Polar Ocean World is currently the only multi-layered, multi-hall combination indoor polar ocean theme park in China. The exterior of the venue resembles a giant beluga whale, leaping into the river city of Wuhan. Inside, there are displays, performances, and interactions with rare polar and marine animals and fish (such as emperor penguins, polar bears, false killer whales, beluga whales, walruses, dolphins, etc.).
