Dananshan Park
Sunset recommendation: Sunset at the summit. Best viewing time: Summer and Autumn. Dananshan is located on the Nantou Peninsula in Shenzhen and is the main peak in the Nanshan area, standing at 336 meters high. Starting from the north gate, it takes about half an hour to reach the summit. Along the way, there are several viewing platforms where you can see the sunset, overlooking the Nanshan Peninsula, Shekou Industrial Zone, and the distant Liufu Mountains.
Xiwang Mangrove
Sunset recommendation: Xiwang Sunset. Best viewing time: Summer and Autumn. It faces the westernmost part of Shenzhen, with a long coastline, making it a very favorable place to watch the sunset. Sitting on the steps, you can feel the sea breeze, occasionally see planes flying overhead, and spot seagulls' shadows on the sea surface. You can also take Line 11, an elevated railway that passes by the seaside, to meet the sunset.
Shenzhen Bay Park
Sunset recommendation: Park sunset. Best viewing time: All year round. Shenzhen Bay Park is connected to the Mangrove Forest in the east and extends to the Cross-sea Bridge in the west, offering a distant view of Shenzhen Bay. The Sunrise Theater is the best place to watch the sunrise, while the Sports Park is a great spot for watching the sunset.
Fisherman's Wharf
Sunset recommendation: Wharf sunset. Best viewing time: Summer and Autumn. Shekou Fisherman's Wharf is an important wholesale market for seafood in Shenzhen and has existed for hundreds of years. Currently, there are still a few fishing boats catching fish. There is also a self-driving route here, suitable for driving while watching the sunset. Near the Water Viewing Corridor, there is a commemorative lighthouse, and a tiered platform between these two places is one of the romantic spots for sunset viewing. You can see Shekou Port and the swaying Miscanthus.
Shekou Prince Bay
Sunset spot recommendation: Pier sunset. Best viewing time: Summer and Autumn. Shenzhen Shekou Port, located at the southern end of Shekou Peninsula, is a great place to watch the pier sunset. Watching the sunset here, the golden light spills over the stacked containers, with distant mountains, cruise ships, and a lighthouse in the background.
Dongchong Beach
Sunset recommendation: Coastal sunset. Best viewing time: Summer and Autumn. Dongchong, located at the southernmost tip of the Dapeng Peninsula, offers a 6km coastline trail from Dongchong to Xichong, half mountain path and half sea route, making it an ideal spot for sunset viewing. Additionally, you can choose to drive to the shore and take a speedboat out to sea to watch the sunset and the scattered boats.
Wutong Mountain
Sunset recommendation: Sunset at the peak. Best viewing time: Summer and Autumn. As the highest mountain in Shenzhen, driving here to watch the sunrise and sunset is undoubtedly one of the best ways to relieve stress. From the Butterfly Valley at the south gate to the Hero Slope, it takes about 5 hours. Upon reaching the peak, you might even encounter singers playing and singing, enjoying the wind and the sun.
