Hongshan Temple | Come here for an unobstructed sea view
Hongshan Temple is a local temple by Erhai Lake, but what we're talking about here is not the temple itself, but the unbeatable sea view. The sea view here is very expansive, with no obstructions along the shore, making it an excellent place to enjoy the sea view. Standing by the sea at Hongshan Temple, the mountains and sea blend seamlessly. The blue Erhai Lake reflects the blue sky, and in this blue world, it's hard to tell where the sea ends and the sky begins.
Luwo Mountain | A Tranquil Place by Erhai Lake
Luwo Mountain is a little-known small seaside cliff on the Huanhai Road. It has patches of withered grasslands and smooth pebble beaches. This place is rarely visited by tourists, truly a tranquil spot by Erhai Lake. Lying on the rare lawn by the lake, listening to the blend of wind and waves, with the sunlight on your face, everything feels so pleasant. The trees here are mostly slender and straight, naturally exuding a sense of orderly beauty. Looking at the sea view through the straight trees, you can find your true self in this tranquil place by Erhai Lake. Luwo Mountain is located on the road from Shuanglang to Wase. This place is very hard to find and is basically only known to locals. From Changyu Village in Shuanglang, head south, and when you see many huge trees by the lake, you are almost there.
Wenbi Village | The Love Song of Sea and Mountain
Heading south along the East Ring Road, the mountains gradually approach the sea. At Wenbi Village, the mountains and the sea merge directly into one, with trees dotting the seaside, creating a magnificent landscape painting. The winding East Ring Road coils like a giant dragon along the coast, serving as the boundary between the sea and the mountains. Traveling through it is a delight. Due to the uneven terrain by the sea, most of the houses here are built on the mountains, giving the village a resemblance to Jiufen in Taiwan. From a high vantage point, the vast blue Erhai Lake comes into full view. Here, you can relax and immerse yourself in the beauty of Erhai.
Jin Suo Island | The Gem in Erhai Lake
Jin Suo Island is the largest island in Erhai Lake. It is said that the shape of the island resembles a weaving shuttle, hence the name Jin Suo Island. 'In the sky, a winged stone looks like a golden shuttle, as if weaving the waves on the silver-blue water,' Jin Suo Island lies like a jade stone in Erhai Lake. It was once the summer palace of the Nanzhao King, and now it is a fishing village. There are many small shops on the island selling Erhai fish products. If you are interested in Erhai's fish products, you might as well come to the island to taste them. Because it is located in Erhai Lake, it is also the only place where you can see the beautiful scenery of Erhai Lake in 360°. Standing on the island, you can enjoy the scenery of both the east and west sides of the lake. It is worth mentioning that there is a Dragon Palace on the island, which is actually a cave with various shapes of stalactites inside. It is also a place worth visiting on the island.
