Unnamed Old Braised Noodles
A small fly restaurant hidden in Yinma Alley, located in an urban village. The place is not big and the environment is average. There aren't many noodles but the meat is large, occupying more than half of the bowl. Overall, the cost performance is still satisfactory. The soup is salty and sweet, leaning towards salty. It's good to sip a few mouthfuls, but drinking too much can be overwhelming. The large meat isn't as delicious as expected, with more lean meat, but it's well-seasoned and not greasy to eat.
Xiaolong Da Rou Noodle Restaurant
The fame of Luzi Pu Da Rou Noodles started with Xiaolong Da Rou Noodles. Due to its overwhelming popularity, it moved out from the Luzi Pu community. It specializes in traditional southern city old braised noodles. Highly recommended is the Da Rou Noodles, each bowl contains a piece of meat that is at least one centimeter thick, richly colored with sauce, and stewed to a tender perfection. It offers great value for money.
Jiangnan Spring Noodle House
Featured on the city's must-eat list by Dianping. Located on the roadside of Yingtian Street, the shop has an open and average environment. It has been in Nanjing for decades. Went there specifically today, and there was already a queue before meal time.
Fuyouji Big Meat Noodles
The largest big meat noodles in Nanjing, with six taels of raw meat!!! You will definitely be amazed when the noodles are served. The big meat is so large that it overflows the edge of the bowl, and it's super thick, with a thickness of a full two centimeters, which is twice that of other big meats. The meat is cooked very thoroughly, melting in your mouth, and it doesn't taste greasy.
Zeng Ji Luzi Pu Big Meat Noodle Restaurant
Located next to the Luzi Pu bus stop, Zeng Ji Luzi Pu Big Meat Noodles (formerly Luzi Pu Big Meat Noodles) is one of the three big meat noodle shops in the Luzi Pu community. It competes with Xiaolong and Wuming Noodle Shop, forming a three-way rivalry. The location is easy to find, just a bit south of the Shuangqiao Gate overpass on Longpan Road. The storefront is not large, but the backyard is quite spacious. The noodle bowls are not as large as Xiaolong's, and the meat is relatively smaller compared to others, with a thickness of about one and a half fingers. The meat is fried to perfection, cooked until very tender and easy to eat, and it doesn't become greasy even after eating a lot.
Unnamed Noodle Shop
The Unnamed Noodle Shop is very small and has no menu, but the prices are affordable. Although it is a small eatery, it is very clean and not messy at all. The owner has a loud voice and is enthusiastic, which, combined with a bit of humor, is a notable feature of the shop. The wide bowl is topped with a large piece of meat that spans from north to south, and the braised sauce is very tempting. The old marinade soup is also bright red and oily, with green garlic flowers floating on top. Overall, both the meat and noodles are made in a standard way, and the taste is quite good. The vegetarian chicken in the noodles amazed me; it is very flavorful, like a sponge soaked in marinade. When you take a bite, the juice bursts out, filling your mouth with the fresh and sweet marinade. Paired with the soft and tender vegetarian chicken, the marinade collides and resonates on the tip of your tongue and between your teeth, leaving a lasting impression.
Shunxin Ramen Restaurant
The specialty of their noodles is a combination of ramen and old braised noodles, where the traditional alkaline noodles in the old braised noodles are replaced with ramen. The ramen is handmade on-site, smooth, chewy, and not sticky. A lot of minced garlic is added to the noodle soup, giving it a strong garlic flavor that easily stimulates the appetite of diners. If you are used to the sweet taste of old braised noodles, you might find the flavor a bit salty.
