The year-round indoor market is definitely worth a visit, filled with an array of fruits, seafood, and flowers that will dazzle your eyes. When we reached the macaron shop, Miss Fu couldn't resist leaning over the counter to buy her favorite macarons. Seeing the colorful and various flavored macarons, I could hardly resist myself. After exploring the market, you can go to the small square outside to enjoy the harbor scenery. Here, you can admire the beautiful night views of the Burrard Bridge and Yaletown, along with delightful street performances.
Stanley Park is the most famous park in Vancouver and one of the most renowned parks in the world. My friends in Vancouver told me that if you have kids, you must visit Stanley Park. After seeing it with my own eyes and walking around, I can confirm that it is indeed a great place for kids. It's incredibly large, and you can easily spend an entire day there. This visit also helped me understand why so many families traveling to Vancouver post photos of their kids running on the lawns. It's because the park is the perfect place for them to unleash their nature, tirelessly chasing geese, pigeons, and any other animals that catch their interest. They also enjoy picking up leaves as they walk, throwing them around, and repeating this over and over again. There are other activities too, like observing small animals, stomping on piles of leaves, or stepping on fallen fruits for a long time without moving on...
The suspension bridge is 230 meters high above the river below and approximately 137 meters long, making it the longest and highest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. In addition to the longest suspension bridge, the park also has many smaller suspension bridges, forming a huge forest maze. To walk through the 7 suspension bridges, you will pass through the original Douglas fir forest. After crossing the main suspension bridge, these smaller bridges will be no problem. The Suspension Bridge Park is a natural park where you can explore with your parents. It also has outdoor barbecue areas, an indigenous carving center, boutique shops, and restaurants.
Gastown is not a place that produces gas; its name is related to a bar owner here. There is also a statue of 'Gassy Jack' and a 2-ton steam clock. Speaking of the steam clock, it is located at an unremarkable intersection, and you only realize it's a tourist spot when you see visitors taking photos. This clock is driven by a steam-powered mechanical device, and every 15 minutes, steam emerges from the ground, and the clock's cover emits a whistle sound.
The Vancouver Aquarium is the largest aquarium in Canada (although it is not very large compared to aquariums in China), and it is also ranked among the top five aquariums in North America. Here, you can see various adorable aquatic creatures, especially jellyfish and colorful small fish, which are incredibly enchanting. Of course, there are also sea lion and seal performances. It was raining in Vancouver on the day we visited. Part of the aquarium is outdoors, but fortunately, we had bought boots and raincoats for the kids before going abroad. Just splashing in the water was already a lot of fun for them.
Fisherman's Wharf
Fisherman's Wharf is located in Richmond, Vancouver. Here, freshly caught shrimp, crabs, fish, and shellfish are sold daily. This season, salmon are returning, and you can enjoy the finest, incredibly delicious salmon. Fisherman's Wharf is also a filming location for the movie 'Finding Mr. Right'.
Butchart Gardens
The Butchart Gardens in Victoria, belonging to the Butchart family, is probably the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. It is also the second largest garden in the world. Inside the garden, various flowers bloom in full splendor, creating a magnificent display. The flowers here come from all over the world. Walking through it feels like strolling in a fairy tale world; no girl could resist so many beautiful flowers. The garden is mainly divided into four major areas: the Sunken Garden, the Italian Garden with ancient Roman design, the Japanese Garden, and the Rose Garden. You can find almost all types of flowers in the world here.
Victoria Butterfly Gardens
Victoria Butterfly Gardens is a small garden with a modest area, but it boasts a wide variety of butterfly species. There are also colorful frogs that I saw for the first time. The garden is filled with blooming flowers in vibrant colors. There are two flamingos that are said to have lived here for many years. Watching the flamingos, it feels like time stands still because they often remain motionless.
