Sipadan in Semporna, Mabul Island, Kapalai, and the Mermaid Island in Kota Kinabalu are famous diving spots in Sabah. The underwater world's secrets await adventurous explorers like you.

Mermaid Island

Underwater, there are three shipwrecks for wreck diving; you can not only dive but also visit the KAWA mangroves to see fireflies.

Sipadan

A large number of turtle remains are piled up in underwater caves and passages, forming a magical underwater labyrinth.

Mabul Island

Large, clownishly colorful frogfish can be seen everywhere, along with moray eels, snake eels, and almost the entire scorpionfish family for visitors to enjoy.

Lankayan Island

Every year from March to May, you can see huge but non-aggressive whale sharks.

Kapalai Island

Besides diving, the most unique feature of Kapalai Island is the romantic traditional water village - 'Kapalai Water Village Resort', which is a great place for shooting films. Kapalai Water Village Resort offers an all-inclusive service for dining, accommodation, diving, and transportation. It provides 'diving packages' and 'non-diving packages' for convenient booking. Kapalai Island is situated among a coral group, with crystal-clear waters that make it look like a floating paradise. The underwater world here is home to rare creatures such as flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, and sea moths, which are worth seeing.
Mataking Island is not only an ideal place for beginner and intermediate divers to enjoy the fun of deep-sea diving, but also an underwater photography base. The eastern coast features a sloping reef that extends 100 meters deep into the sea, while the western coast is a vertical diving sanctuary that also reaches 100 meters deep. The island is characterized by its beautiful and diverse corals. Moreover, the water here has astonishingly high visibility, and the well-preserved coral reefs attract many rare fish and marine life. Additionally, sea turtles are frequent visitors, and you might even encounter them in the shallows.
