The basic rules of driving in Iceland are similar to those at home. Newcomers should pay attention to the fact that headlights must be on at all times, day or night, and to road signs indicating priority. Give way to main roads from side roads; give way to pedestrians; stop for three seconds at a stop sign; give way to vehicles in roundabouts when passing through them.
