How long does it take to drive the entire route of Highway 1? Do I need to find a place to spend the night along the way? If I'm driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco, will turning around at scenic spots take a long detour ?

Many sections of double yellow lines that are very long, and one lane, you can't possibly stop and wait to turn, American cars drive fast, you stop, the cars behind you will be blocked, easy to rear-end, if possible still drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles

We stayed for two days, one day in Stanford town, and then stayed for another day.

I've tested that you can go to the opposite parking lot at Haixiang Bay, with a dedicated turning line. McWay and Bixby Bridge are easier to park on the inside than the outside. Purple Beach needs to turn into a fork road, with a dedicated turning line. During the whole journey, I also parked at four scenic spots along the way, three of which were parked on this side, and one turned to the opposite side. In addition, which is more dazzling to drive from south to north or from north to south, you can feel it yourself. Route 1 is in the northern hemisphere. I went there on June 8th, and the sun was at the northernmost point of the Tropic of Cancer on June 23rd. If the traffic flow is large, you can't park on either side because there are limited places to park. Don't block the traffic. But there are scenic spots along Route 1, so you can just stop anywhere. I only have one picture with a highway in it. You can judge for yourself.
