Switzerland is not a member of the European Union, but it is a Schengen country, just like Italy. Holders of Italian Schengen visas can go to Switzerland. Similarly, holders of Swiss Schengen visas can go to Italy.

Having a Swiss visa is good.

Your visa needs to be a Schengen visa. If it is a Swiss visa, you cannot go, unless the visa entry time is more than 180 days and you have stayed in Switzerland for more than 30 days.
