On my first entry into the Perth city, I was stopped by a police car on Great Eastern Highway and checked my driver's license and rental contract. The police told me that the speed limit was 60km/h but I was driving at 80km/h. I also failed to indicate when changing lanes. I pleaded sincerely and was fined $200. I then had to go to the post office to pay the fine.

Mainly illegal parking and speeding. Fines are in the hundreds of dollars. It's best to bring Visa or Master Card when traveling abroad, as most shops do not accept or recognize my unique UnionPay card.
