Friends, have any of you rented a car from Avis in Italy? I rented a car in Florence and bought full insurance. Just 1 kilometer after driving off, I smelled something burning, and Avis gave me a new contract and a new car. Today I found out that they charged me 1445 euros for the previous car, even though I had full insurance. Has anyone else experienced this situation ?

Just ask Avis clearly about the reason for the deduction. You should not be deducted if you buy full insurance.
