Could you please tell me if it is too tight for me to drive self-drive from Picton to Christchurch via Greymouth, Fox Glacier, Wanaka, Queenstown and Dunedin in nine days in March ?

It's a bit tight. How are you entering and leaving the South Island? Taking a ferry from the North Island to the South Island? I suggest skipping Christchurch and Dunedin, and focusing on the West Coast and central areas of the South Island. Your 15-day itinerary should be just about right. Are the hotels you've booked cancellable? The scenery of the South Island is on the road, and with the many mountain roads, it's good if you can maintain a speed of 70 kilometers per hour in your travel arrangements. You should calculate your itinerary carefully, as you might end up rushing every day, and you also have to return to the North Island. If the rented car can't go on the ferry, you'll have to repeatedly rent and return cars, which will be very time-consuming and exhausting! You're welcome! I'll be in the South Island from 4/1 to 4/16.

Brother, how was the trip? Is the itinerary arranged? I'm going in August.

If you don't mind some projects being cancelled due to the weather, in terms of just going on the itinerary, the time is just right.
